We've been bothered by a neighbor's dog that comes out periodically day and night and just barks for 10 to 30 minutes -- usually facing our house. We got this product, found a spot in the trees facing the dog, and set it up. It's really worked as advertised. The dog starting barking, as usual, but then seemed to bark fewer times, and with less noise. As three weeks have passed, we hear the dog give one or two "test" yelps (more than barks) presumably to see if it still gets "zapped' by the machine. Since it does, it stops barking immediately. No more gritting teeth (for us) for 10 to 30 minutes, as before. So, I'm delighted with this and wholeheartedly recommend it.

HERE'S THE SCOOP ON IT:
A new family moved in next door. They brought with them a german shepard looking dog that they keep in the back yard. This dog barks non-stop all day long, and it's a very deep and violent bark. It boggles the mind how these people next door can be so oblivious to the barking. We couldn't enjoy the inside of our own home due to the barking. Something had to be done immediately. I read the reviews on here which seem to have mixed results. I didn't care if it was going to be a waste of money or not because I had to try something. I bought it and hung it on a tree next to our wooden privacy fence. The instuctions say not to hang it higher than 5ft but we had no choice but to hang it higher. It's hanging on the tree about 7-8ft high and it's pointed down toward the middle of their yard. IT IMMEDIATELY WORKED. We were amazed. It barked once and I guess it heard the noise and it didn't bark for 2 days after that. After about the 3rd day it would give a test bark... Read more

This "deterrent" has had zero effect on my neighbor's dogs. In fact, they run right up near the thing (within 2 or 3 feet) and seemingly bark AT it. And they don't stop. They just seem to be annoyed at it rather than learning not to bark. I am not impressed with this product and question the legitimacy of the 5 star reviews. I do not recommend this item. The merchant, Key Products, was excellent, however. I did receive it within 4 days of ordering with regular shipping and I would recommend them. Just not for this product.

I just bought this about a week ago. So far it has been a great product. It requires such a small drop of blood, which is very important since it can be a challenge to get sometimes. It is very easy to use. I did not give it 5 stars for 1 main reason. I cannot get the software to work on either my mac or my PC. I emailed the company and waiting for response. It would be really nice to use the software to keep track of everything. I also could not get the DVD to work on my mac. I did not try the PC. I watched it on a standard DVD player, and it played fine. It would also be nice if these meters used a standard USB cable. If you would like for the meter to automatically download your results, you have to buy a special cable which is a little over $30.00.

The Alphatrak 2 Blood Glucose Monitoring Kit ( for Canine )is apparently effective but what is not, is the fact that the Manufacturer's site does not indicate that the product specific Lancelets and Testing Strips are not available in Australia (perhaps nowhere outside the USA ?). This means I must order from USA every time I need small supplies of small consumables for the Kit.

If I had known this, I obviously would have purchased a Kit in Australia.

This litter box cabinet looks good and allows you to put stuff on top of it, which saves some space in the utility closet I keep it in. A small design flaw: The drawer is not convenient as it requires you to open the doors before you can pull it out. I ended up keeping things like grooming supplies in a basket on top of the cabinet - more room and I don't want them to soak up any smells either.

Now, for the major flaw: The material is low quality fiberboard. The first time my cat had a little accident and made a puddle in the corner of the cabinet, it soaked into the side panel which swelled up and turned into mush where it meets the floor. It's hideous and falling apart. I'm going to self-build a replacement with veneer-core plywood and line it with plastic. If you get one of these cabinets, I suggest lining the interior with something waterproof and washable to make it last longer.

Update: Still love this box, it is holding up nicely. Also a tip -if your cat pushes open the doors and kicks litter all over the place, you can solve this by taking a hairband and keeping it around the door knobs, this forces kitties to enter and exit through the DOOR and not make a mess.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase. I have two cats, and one of them has always refused to use covered boxes. I picked this cabinet because it is bigger than most, and has a nice large opening on the side unlike many others. I also bought Precious Cat litter since it is supposed to be about as dust free as you can get and I wanted to make the box more inviting, at least initially. Worked like a charm, both cats took to box nicely. You will still want to put our a floor mat (I bought a pretty sort of "welcome mat" to put in front of the door) but this looks WAY better than looking at a litter box. You will still have to do some sweeping up of litter, but having a cabinet like this... Read more
