Product Description

The award-winning original Chuckit! Ball Launcher is a total revolution in fetch technology, designed for hands-free ball pickup without bending over, and throws the ball 3 times farther than you can with your arm. Use the Chuckit! Ball Launcher with all Medium Chuckit! compatible balls.

Amazon.com Review

Say farewell to slobbery games of fetch. The brilliantly-simple design of Chuckit! means you'll never have to pick up a sodden tennis ball again. Perfect for ball junkies of all breeds and sizes, this nifty little toy is like an extension of your arm. You'll throw longer and faster and keep hands slime-free, all without wearing out your pitching arm. With practice, it's possible to fling a ball as far as 140 feet, tiring out the most fetch-happy retriever in a shorter period of time. Chuckit! is also great for owners with mobility issues, since there's no need to bend over and pick up balls. Simply place the claw over the ball and press down. The Chuckit! tool snaps around the ball and holds on. To get the most distance out of the tool, use an overhand throw and follow through. Use only standard-size tennis balls, and be careful not to throw directly at animals or people. This set comes complete with a ball to get you started. --Mary Park

  • The original best-selling ball launcher
  • No slobber, hands-free ball pick up
  • Easily throws three times as far
  • Exercise in a fraction of the time
  • Use with all Medium 2.5-inch Chuckit! balls

5.0 out of 5 stars The best investment for dogs who love to fetch!, September 16, 2006
Ash1138 (Aurora, CO) - See all my reviews
If your dog isn't one for fetching balls, this is probably not the toy for you. However, if your dog is the kind that lives to run down tennis balls, you NEED to own this product.

I own two Chuckit's. I have the large version featured here and also the small size version. I actually tend to use the small size more often because it's easier to control your throws and I'm not as often in an area where I can make use of the large size's range. The small size sill allows you to chuck it pretty darn far if you want. However, for when you are at a wide open area (like a park or beach) and you want the herculean ability to catapult a tennis ball to the outer limits of your dog, this large size Chuckit can't be beat.

The light weight of a tennis ball makes it very difficult to throw long distances no matter how strong your arm strength is. Even throwing 40yrds gets strenuous over time, but with Chuckit, little more than the flick of a wrist will achieve that distance... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Wears out the dog without hurting my shoulder, October 5, 2007
Brian Jacobsen "bjacobsen" (Boise, ID United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Chuckit! Ball Launcher (Colors Vary) (Kitchen)
There were two reasons I wanted a chuck it when we got our dog. Picking up gross, dirty, slobbery tennis balls is no fun and I have a bad shoulder. I have had three surgeries on my shoulder so my mobility with it is limited thus making throwing difficult. With the chuck it, I can throw a tennis ball across the entire dog park with a flick of the wrist. After the dog brings the ball back and drops it the tennis ball pushes back in to the chuck it and my hands never have to touch the ball.

It takes very little practice to learn how to use the chuck it and get the ball as far or as short as you want it to go. You can throw overhand, sidearm or underhand and get the results you want.

The chuck it works with any standard size tennis ball and is made of thick durable plastic. A must have for dogs who love to fetch balls.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best FETCH toy available! Dog and I LOVE it!, November 3, 2005
Christine - See all my reviews
This review is from: Chuckit! Ball Launcher (Colors Vary) (Kitchen)
This toy is great. It throws the ball farther than you can by hand but, the best part is - YOU do not have to touch that gross ball ever again! The dog drops the ball at your feet (if he doesn't you don't throw it and he will learn...) Then you use the "chuck it" to pick it up and throw it. My dog jumps around like a maniac when he sees me pick up the "chuck it". He loves it. The second best fetch toy is the original floppy disc, we have tried other frisbee type toys but the floppy disc is easiest for the dog to actually catch - But the "chuck it" is the number one toy. (The floppy disc gets slimy and goober covered - and as I said you NEVER have to touch the ball with your hands when you use the chuck it)

I don't know why the dimensions are not included in the product description, but they aren't. It is smaller than it looks in the picture; I would have liked one about double the size. It would be nice if the consumer was offered a choice in sizes considering this is,unfortunately, the only pool of its kind. Fiberglass is so 1980 and inflatables are in, which lasted all of 15 minutes with my dog. So I got this pool for $90, which my dog loved. Then I went inside, and checked on him a half hour later and he had started chewing off the side. Much to my disappointment, the panels that hold up the sides are made of cardboard... I would have expected something a little more durable for the price. So now I am patching up the holes because once the cardboard disintegrates, it's worthless. Why is this pool $90? Why are there no competitors? If you have a dog who loves water but isn't prone to chewing, and the $90 doesn't deter you (though, it doesn't matter because there's no other game... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Expensive Chew Toy, June 22, 2010
Savitri (Earth) - See all my reviews
Let me first say that my dog loved this pool (as he loves any pool) and it is very easy to set up and store. However, the materials are not in the least dog-proof, which is surprising for a pool for dogs!
After setting up and filling the pool, I delighted in watching my dog romp and splash, jump in and out of the pool and have a great time for over an hour. Then I went inside for a little while. When I returned about twenty minutes later, I beheld lots of card-board pieces and bits of red and blue plastic littering the yard. The sides of this pool are made of a cardboard type material, so if there is a puncture even, the cardboard could get wet and mold. My dog enjoyed tearing this new 'toy' to shreds (probably as much as he enjoyed splashing in it) which was exceedingly easy for him. So, unless your dog is completely uninterested in chewing or even biting down on the side (or you can supervise and not leave your dog unattended even briefly, if he does like to chew) I do... My lab and australian shepherd love this! It's big enough for both of them to play in, and it's easy to set up (You just unfold it). My husband loves that you can drain it just by unscrewing the drain when they get the water muddy. In the past I've bought them 3 of the plastic pools which you have to tip over to drain and clean, and with the sun they've ended up cracked. This is one of the best things I could have bought my girls.

This review is from: Pet Gear Easy Step I Pet Stairs, 2-step/for cats and dogs up to 75-pounds, Light Cocoa (Misc.)
This is what I like about the steps:
1. They don't stick out too far into the middle of the room.
2. They are acceptable as furniture (yes, plastic but not cheap-junk-looking) with a neutral color (well... ideally, I'd like color choices).
3. Even I could put them together, although I had to examine the picture very closely.

This is what my toy poodle likes about them:
1. Even when she hits them at a run (which she does) they don't skitter across the floor. As a matter of fact, the steps have not moved at all since I placed them.
2. The steps have backs, so you don't see scary empty space when you are learning to use them.
3. The steps have some depth and are surprisingly broad so you don't have to tiptoe up and down. They are slightly tilted backward for a feeling of security.
4. The carpet treads give your paws good purchase and that mean no scary slipping on the steps.

I did have to take time to teach my very timid dog how to... Read more

We had a ramp a few years ago, for another dog. Neither dog (the older one or the younger one) liked it & would never use it. The two dogs we have now don't mind using them. The older one hasn't gotten to the point where she uses it on her own. But I've been training them both to use them & when they are told to "use the stairs", the will do that. ;-)

Easy to put together. Easy to move. We have teak furniture, so it kind of matches.

I'm pleased with this purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars "Gentle Incline" means sloped stairs bad for dogs, April 7, 2011

This review is from: Pet Gear Easy Step I Pet Stairs, 2-step/for cats and dogs up to 75-pounds, Light Cocoa (Misc.)
Anyone who has a dog knows, they should not jump down off of anything they cannot jump up on. Jumping down is far more dangerous, and most injuries occur to dog's legs, joints, and spine from jumping down. These stairs are fine for climbing up. The "gentle incline" does encourage dogs to climb up, but it DISCOURAGES a dog from using the stairs to climb back down...which is far more important. My dog has used stairs since she was a puppy. She is rough though, so when she plays she runs and hits the stairs with such force, she breaks the cheap ones, even though she only weighs 20 pounds. She will use these stairs to climb, but, after going down them a couple of times, she now jumps down next to them, or jumps over them, rather than using them to climb back down. She never did that with "regular" square stairs...I guess think about it...the designer of these stairs sure didn't....if you had to go down a flight of stairs where each step was sloped downward, would it be easy for...
