I have 3 Belgian Malinois, a Black Lab, and a new yard without a fence. I did a lot of research and ordered the Stay and Play and then ordered 3 extra collars. The unit is pretty compact and neat looking and is about the size and shape of a blender without the pitcher on it. I plugged in the unit and was pleasantly surprised to see that all of the collars worked with the unit without doing anything to them at all. I thought I would have to sync them like you would garage door opener.Our house is 3400sq feet (2 stories). We placed the unit about 4 ft. off the ground near a window that opens to the back yard. The unit throws out a signal that allows the dogs to roam a petty large perimeter all the way around the house. We could have allowed the dogs to roam farther in the back yard, but the signal would go too far in the front yard which would give the dogs access to the street. I was thrilled the day I received my Stay & Play wireless fence. Set up was simple...my dogs caught on very fast...life was grand. Then 2 months later my transmitter began giving a very high pitched warning signal. I called customer service, a very nice rep from the PetSafe company quickly advised me that there must be something wrong with my transmitter and that she was sending me a new one. Wow, what great customer service! I thought I would have to beg and plead to get my issue resolved..but no, as soon as I told her my issue she immediately offered me a new one. The new one comes in the mail and life was grand again...until 2-3 months later, middle of the night....BEEEEEEEP!The EXACT same warning signal. So I call the friendly PetSafe reps again (and they truely are extremely nice). Explained the issue and again, I am quickly advised that they are sending me a new one. This time, I dug a little deeper and found out that this is a known and frequent issue with this new model... We have a German Shepherd pup (10 months old) who has learned to climb our fence. Every day at the bus stop she would climb the fence and come running up to play with her kids. No matter how much we tried to teach her not to leave the fence, she would. The end of my rope was when she had the lady across the street who is very scared of dogs, cornered. I had already been researching and decided to get the Stay and Play System.I went to the store, brought it home, unpacked it, got the collar charged and flagged the yard. I walked the pup around the yard a few times and decided to try it with the collar on the lowest level. Whenever the collar would beep I would have her quickly back away. I did this for the rest of the day and then early in the evening decided to let her test it.
